Spring Sports Have Sprung

The Spring sports (Baseball, Softball, Golf, Track) have sprung. New baseball coach Mike Luce and new softball coach Bob Mahon have taken the fields in the first week of mandatory practices. Coach Luce comes following coach Brad Croxford who led the Pels to a 6-11-1 2016 season. Coach Croxford stepped down in June 2016 as the head coach. Coach Mahon replaces Nick Scala who led the Pelicans, in three seasons to a 2-84 record. Coach Luce said "We're staying optimistic, we have a lot of good talent, we just have to play the game like I know we can." Coach Luce and Mahon will start off the season later in March.

Golf has also started. Boys Head coach, and girls head coach Marvin Dykstra is entering his second year at the helm of the girls, and starting his first year in the captains chair of the boys. Drew Byington coached the boys to a state title last season. The KU boys golf squad is predicted to win another state title this season.

Track, coached by Rob Coffman is going to their first meet this upcoming week and is predicted to have many athletes qualify at state.

All stats and recaps will be posted here as the seasons start
