Klamath Union Ready for Fall Sports

As we look ahead to the next couple weeks, fall sports will be kicking off in the basin. We say hello once again to football, soccer, volleyball, and cross country. For Klamath Union, this marks the start to another season of cool breezes, colorful leaves, chilly nights on the football field as the PA announcer exclaims “Touch Down Pelicans!” watching our cross country team trek through mud and muck to get to the finish line, to see the volleyball team dig into a ball and set up a victory, and to see our soccer teams outlast the others in the conference. The first day for fall sports practices is Monday, August 14th 2017. As the summer winds down to a close, the temperatures drop, the lights flicker on over the field and we all know it’s game time. KU is very excited to announce that starting this school year, (2017-18) there will be absolutely no participation fees for athletics! You read that right, all athletes will be able to play sports this year absolutely free of charge. This is so all students can participate without the worry of fees looming over you. Also, on the ninth of August, from 3:00PM to 7:00PM, Mazama High School will be offering free sports physicals to all athletes from 7th to 12th grade. Mr. Mason will be on site to give you any forms you may need.

This year, our fall sports teams are ready to take the field, court, and running trail to bring a state trophy back to the campus of KUHS. All of the student athletes and coaches have been working very hard in this last off season and they are ready to show you what they have.

The athletic office staff (Scott Mason, Athletic Director, Sandi Ellis, Athletic Secretary, Cooper Roberts, Sports Information Director, and Hailey Anderson, Associate Sports Information Director) will be back full time on the 1st of August. If you have any questions about fall sports, or KU athletics, call our office at 541-971-4112.
